This course provides foundational knowledge for those caring for persons affected by sexual assault for 60 days. Each module will include a knowledge check that must be passed in order to proceed with the course. In addition to modules, there are handouts included for education and reference.
Objectives of this course include:
- Describe genital anatomical structures.
- State how to perform vaginal speculum and anoscope exams.
- State at least 3 best practices for the photodocumentation of a sexual assault examination.
- Describe the informed consent process and discharge education process for a patient affected by sexual assault.
- Verbalize how to apply and interpret TB dye.
- Explain the process for using a digital contrast filter.
- State the best practice image storage and transfer process.
